Problem Note 46319: Cannot build location analytical hierarchy

DetailsAboutRate It

When attempting to build the location analytical hierarchy in the SAS® Merchandise Solutions Configuration Workbench for SAS® High-Performance Markdown Optimization, you might notice the hierarchy is not built and the following error will be visible in the workspace server log:

NOTE: Table WORK.STD_LEVELS_BELOW_ATTR created, with 2 rows and 1 columns.

NOTE: PROCEDURE SQL used (Total process time):
      real time 0.00 seconds
      cpu time 0.00 seconds

explicitly turning off mprint and notes
ERROR: The variable prod_id in the DROP, KEEP, or RENAME list has never been referenced.

NOTE: Character values have been converted to numeric values at the places given by: (Line):(Column).
      1:3
NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.
WARNING: The data set WORK.GP_DM_MID2 may be incomplete. When this step was stopped there were 0 observations and 5 variables.
NOTE: DATA statement used (Total process time):
      real time 0.03 seconds
      cpu time 0.00 seconds

The software will not allow you to build a location hierarchy with multiple attributes if you sandwich standard levels between attributes. A hierarchy pattern containing standard (S) and attribute (A) levels in the form S-A-A-A-A-S can be build, but a hierarchy of the form S-A-S-S-A-S cannot be built. The workaround for this issue is to create attributes for those standard levels that you wish to place between attribute levels in your analytical location hierarchy.
